FROM PETE ADAMS (CIRCUS VERN)

I have recently been told of two items for the Ring of Fame Foundation to share with each of you.
December 13 at the Big Cat Habitat - Monies raised that day will be donated to the Ring of Fame in order to sponsor the inductees, both current and in the future. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for Kids, $2 hot dogs and $1 soda. Come out and support both the Habitat as well as the Ring of Fame. Show is at 1:30 and doors open at 12:30 p.m. on Palmer near Interstate 75 at Fruitville Exit. Need directions-ask!
January 16 at Sailor Circus Arena - Open Forum for Ring of Fame Inductees and the Media open to all at 10:00 a.m. Feel free to bring a camera. This may your one chance to meet the circus stars in an open session.

WORDS OF WISDOM

"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...
it's about learning how to dance in the rain."

FROM GARY PAYNE!

Fellow Fans, Once again, destructive legislation is proposed in Massachusetts, by Senator Hedlund.

A hearing is scheduled for November 16. I am planning to attend. Kari Johnson and MaryLou Kelly have alerted supporters, including us. She puts it well, and I'll condense her comments here: This bill repeats the ARs technique of the past several years. Unable to ban performing animals, they are once again trying to ban the tool and tethers - achieving the same goal.

As in the past, our goal is to point out that the experts all have appropriate guidelines and policies with regard to the use of the tool, tethers, as well as veterinary and husbandry procedures.

My message:HOLD - Be alert - stay in touch. We anticipate: There will be an appropriate time for letters, emails, phone calls.

You might begin to prepare YOURS! Have it ready for when we need it.

When last the fans stepped up to the challenge in MASS. I was told by one state rep that more than 600 communications had been received...the majority in favor of performing animals!

We do not yet have http://www.grassroots.circusfans.org/ up and running. It looks like it will be ready aprox. Thanksgiving. This latest development indicates more than ever, the need for this site.

FROM PAUL INGRASSIA

Friends,
Thanks to my wife's nimble fingers I am able to tell you first, thanks for your many, many greetings and good wishes. Second, that my condition prompted by back surgery and a disastrous hospital accident three weeks ago has and will continue to improve. I'm advised that I will have complete and full use of both my leg and left arm following extensive therapy. I have been forced to curtail much of my extra curricular activity, which includes writing for a number of circus periodicals and assisting the OABA in its fund raising for circus animals. I am, however, completely mobile.

While all that is disappointing, I am of course, happy to know that I will, within a few short months, return to my former nimble, svelte condition. It is our intention at this time to again return to Sarasota for the first three months of 2010 and enjoy the multiple circus events in the area, and to enjoy the company of our many friends there.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for the many expressions of concern and friendship. For a guy with such a terrible personality, I am amazed by the number of friends that I have.

Hope we are all well when we meet again.

God bless and stay well. Paul R. Ingrassia
