CIRCUS KIRK 1976 #1

Circus Kirk was a church sponsored Circus that was the idea of Charles (Doc) Boas .
These shots were taken in Ford City, PA by Bill. We were playing a Fireman's Carnival in a town close by. The show used all young people that they trained to do acts and many of them went on to professional careers both in the circus and professions.
This particular year I beleive they did have a Baby Elephant. We didn't get to seee the show since we were working also.
David Orr could probably fill us in on a lot of this information since He was on the show.
Show above was the cookhouse.

  3. Dick,
I was on Circus Kirk in 1973, 1974, and 1975. We were in the heyday of Circus Kirk in 1975 moving on 6 semis and some small units, the first circus to ever play Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket and presenting a real 10-1 side show with a full brass band. By 1976, I see from these pictures that at least one of the Fred Johnson pictoral banners has been replaced with an orange banner with lettering. Not sure what happened there. Mort and I have been friends for years and Ijust got to visit Walt Heist a couple weeks ago. What a great show we had then.
