Fred got these from Mr Moore's widow.
Fred also says that these sre without a doubt the finest set of photos of this
show that he has ever seen.
And I have to agree with him on that.

Hello all...Beyond fantastic to see these amazing Cetlin & Wilson wagons and midway shots. I came to know the future owners of the C&W stock, Barney & Marie Corey in 1969at St. Michaels Catholic School in Maimi, Fl. I was 11 years old and a fifth grader who was always excited when any carnival big or small came to town. I believe that Barney and Marie were also concurrently operating a few rides set up at the former Funland Park on NW 27th Ave & 79th ST in Miami. The only wagon that remained fron the C&W stock was the Philadelphia Tobaggan 1919 Carousel Center load which was set up at Funland Park.
ReplyDeleteAfter some time at Funland, Barney and Marie then moved a few pieces to "Havana Park" which was located on Flagler St & 19 Ave; Right on the NW Corner. I watched the teardown of the carousel at funland; "Tiny" (Tiny resided at the Palm Lake Trailer Court)and "Sonny" Howard spent 2 days with an old White Cabover, a chain come-a-long and a lassoed coconut palm tree getting the center load wagon out of the mud. They hauled it right down 27th Ave and on over to Havana Park. The carousel was beautiful all lit up with its incandescant bulbs and and a few horses which had been beautifully restored by Bobby Wicks of Brooksville, Fl. Other pieces in Havana Park were: Tilt a Whirl, Tip Top, Scrambler, Trabant, Saucer kiddie, Elephant kiddie and Boat kiddie. The kid rides were pulled from storage but were stripped down to their bare components and in tatters. Barney was kind to show us local kids the "ropes" of how things worked. I painted the kid rides, made light fixtures and anything that needed fixing got fixed. I remember the C/W office trailer being parked behind the park, amazing pictures and stories I found in there. So much more to tell...next time
