BLOOMSBURG FAIR GETS READY SEPT. 23, 2009 #1
These pictures are from the Bloomsburg Fair web site. I beleive the Side Show is owned by Rick Dennis from Vestal New York.
Bill and I played the Bloomsburg Fair many times.
Looking at these pictures brings back a lot of wonderful memories!
A lot of Folks beleive that Bloomsburg should have the title
"PA State Fair"
It's hard to beleive but the state has no state fair.
The closest thing to that is the Farm Show in Harrisburg in January.

"FLASH IS CASH"
Now this joint's ready for business!
The fellow in front of the stand is a butcher, with a "Gin Pole",
waiting for doors so he can work the seats.
FAIR TO FEATURE RIDE FROM JACKSON'S NEVERLAND RANCH
Fair to feature ride from Jackson’s Neverland Ranch
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Ever want to ride one of those rides that Michael Jackson had out back at the Neverland Ranch?
The Central Washington State Fair has your chance. And it’s lollipop-themed. Of course, it is.
The Lolli Swing is a regular at the fair. But this year is the first time the fair will have the one from Jackson’s famed backyard amusement park.
Butler Amusements of California, which bought five rides from Neverland Ranch last year, describes it thusly: “This brightly colored ride has 16 swings decorated with large swirl lollipops and lights. The centerpiece is a large clown complete with a red nose and floppy shoes.”
A few years back it would have been hard to imagine a carnival company touting its association with Michael Jackson. He was the king of pop, yes, but his last decade had been marked by child molestation charges and bizarre facial transformations.
It took his death in June to remind us how much we all loved him. We stopped thinking about the Jacko who dangled his baby over a hotel balcony railing and resumed thinking of him as the Jackson Five prodigy. We stopped thinking about the criminal allegations and resumed thinking of him as the man behind “Thriller.”
So, what do you think, On Blog readers? Are you going to ride the Lolli Swing?

NEW ATTRACTION AT BLOOMSBURG FAIR
BILL & CINDY MORRIS' ELEPHANT ENCOUNTER
ELEPHANT ENCOUNTER is an educational and entertaining experience for the entire family, as we guide you through an up close and personal encounter with the worlds largest animals. No place, anywhere, will you see elephants like you are going to see here at the fair.
You’ll be inspired as you experience the full force of each elephant’s unique individual personality. We are lucky to have both species of elephants. Cora is a 49-year-old Asian elephant, weighing in at 9000 pounds and Shannon our 25-year-old African elephant, weighing in at 4500.
This could change the way you think and feel about these magnificent creatures forever. These are not circus elephants, nor are they zoo elephants. They are family elephants and have been owned and cared for by the Morris family for virtually their entire lives. A family who represents 3 generations who have dedicated their entire lives to the study and care of these elephants. Location: Kiddie Ride Section at the west end of the Fairground
