Now, he owns the Cole Bros. Circus, which has its winter home in DeLand.
At 75, Pugh is described by Floyd Kruger, president of the nonprofit Circus Ring of Fame Foundation, as "a highly regarded and formidable force in the industry."
Pugh, the flamboyant English-born son of a thrill-show owner, was recently inducted into the Circus Ring of Fame in Sarasota.
