The circus is coming to town

The circus is coming, the circus is coming!
That is the cry heard throughout Logan County.
In fact Carson & Barnes, the largest circus in the world still under the "big top," will be in Russellville on Monday and Tuesday, June 21 and 22.
Carson & Barnes is the last really large circus in the country still plying the ways of circus days gone by. For 74 years and four generations of the same family ownership, the circus has traveled all over America bringing joy and entertainment to generations of the American public.
Carson & Barnes travels from town to town stopping for one or two days in smaller locations and three or four days in the larger cities of America. Unlike some of the other circuses in America that play only in the big cities and in large civic centers, this circus continues to bring its excitement and traditions to small town America as well as the largest towns in America.
The beautiful "big top" that will house the colorful and exciting show is actually the largest circus tent in the world. Covering the size of a football field and reachingt three stories high, the two-year-old multi-colored tent can be seen for nearly a mile away. Inside will be an exciting and fun-filled two-hour show with entertainers from all over the world.
Clowns, giant elephants, giraffes, colorful trained horses, various other animal acts, tumblers, high wire acts and many other entertainers will thrill the young and old alike. For many people they will never have seen anything like it in their lives. It is sure to bring enjoyment and excitement to all. For many people who have never seen a circus it is certain to bring memories they will never forget.
The circus will set up next to the Logan County Extension Service on the Bypass in Russellville not far from Walmart. The circus welcomes people to come and see the set up on Monday morning June 21 at 9 a.m. You will be able to see the true workings of a grand circus Unloading, feeding, watering, washing, raising the "big top" and all the other hundreds of things necessary to get ready for the first performance.
Performances will be at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. both nights. Come an hour early and see the petting zoo, ride an elephant or meet the performers. Come and bring the whole family for and unforgettable event. Be sure and bring your camera along with you and capture all the excitement and fun.
Advance ticket sales are now available Family tickets are for two adults and three children ages 11 and under and are now available for $25 Two for one coupons, redeemable at the circus box office prior to each show, are also available.
