Go Go. Fun Fun.
It’s that time of year again. The Cajun Heartland State Fair is returning to the Cajundome through Sunday.
This is the 22nd year the Cajun Heartland State Fair has set up camp in Acadiana, and this year’s installment of the annual local institution promises all the food, music and family fun it’s delivered for more than 20 years.
North American Midway Entertainment will provide the rides for this year’s fair, and Heartland rider die-hards can expect perennial favorites like the giant Ferris wheel, Crazy Mouse and the Mega Drop! Games. There will also be a games midway (in case you’re deeply in need of a giant stuffed dog), food and drink vendors and a special section of rides for the little ones.
The music lineup for this year’s fair is an impressive one, and this second weekend music lineup has a few major musical moments. Today there is the third annual Guitar Hero competition (aspiring air guitar gods, get ready!). Friday features back-to-back sets from local greats Wayne Toups and Sammy Kershaw. And the fair wraps up with sets by local favorites, The Molly Ringwalds and Krossfyre.
The fair is offering a host of ride ticket specials, as they do every year, for families and fair superfans. More information on the ticket specials, check out www.cajundome.com/entertainment.aspx on the Web.
