NoFit State Circus will take over Guildhall Sqaure tonight

SOUTHAMPTON'S Guildhall Square will explode with a spectacular and breathtaking circus display tonight.
The city’s cultural quarter will be transformed into an aerial playground with jaw-dropping acrobatics, circus imagery, pyrotechnics and live music.
Barricade will see two trucks block off the square and disgorge their contents of wire and tyres, dividing the space in two.
Suddenly a storm is brewing and the performers use the items to build a barricade to protect themselves.
This sets the scene for dangerous acts portraying powerful stories of separation and unity, and acts of creation and destruction.
Acrobats will master tightropes stretching high above the square, while others will climb never-ending ladders and swing from stomach-churning heights.
NoFit State Circus, the team behind 2009’s Midsummer Dreams and 2010’s Alive and Ablaze, will bring their theatrical chaos for one night only.
The family event starts at 9.30pm and is free, but space is limited so organisers have advised people to arrive early.
