Elephant Walk comes to downtown D.C. tonight

The circus in in town, and the return of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus means continuing the tradition of walking elephants through downtown Washington.
The circus’s “Fully Charged” shows will return to the Verizon Center beginning Thursday and will run through Sunday.
This year’s walk to welcome the elephants is starting a few hours later than the 2011 event; the expected start time is Tuesday at 8 p.m. and the route, which is expected to begin at Virginia and New Jersey avenues NE.
