The Main Event: The Zoppe Family Circus
When: 7 shows during the week
Take Note: No shows on Thursday but there are two on Saturday
One of the most remarkable new features for Oak Fest this year is a family-run circus that, according to promoters, honors an Old-World Italian tradition.
The Zoppè Family Circus runs through the week and features a 500-seat tent for the one-ring circus.
The shows stars Nino the clown and feature "acrobatic feats, equestrian riding, canine capers, clowning" and more sprinkled in. More information is on the Oak Fest website.
Giovanni Zoppè is the sixth-generation circus performer. He plays Nino.
Debbie Houtz, who does marketing and adverstising for Oak Fest, said shows run every day, except for Thursday, with two shows on Saturday.
Tickets are $12 a person. Children 3 year old or younger are free.
