Double Bacon Corn Dog: Coming to the Iowa State Fair next month, more flavor than most frankfurters can even DREAM of having.
Campbell's Concessions of Des Moines, Iowa pushes the limits of how much taste you can pack into a single hot dog. Call it a weapon of mass indigestion.

The Campbell's Concessions' Double Bacon Corn Dog will make its debut at this year's Iowa State Fair. The corndogs will cost $5.
The Double Bacon Corn Dog pushes the limits of how much taste you can pack into a single hot dog. Campbell's Concessions of Des Moines, Iowa will unveil this flavorful frankfurter to hungry Americans at the Iowa State Fair next month.
Eric Campbell had never heard of such a food when he thought it up last winter for a promotion with Sonic, a radio station in Edmonton, Canada.
"I don't know anyone else that ever tried it and I know most other corndog operators," Campbell told the Daily News, "I know a lot of people do the deep fried Oreos and deep fried butter but not bacon corn dogs."

FATTIEST FOODS OF ALL TIME
Helen Little, Campbell's mother and the family business' owner, considers the Double Bacon Corn Dog a great contribution to the agricultural fair.
"I think it's fantastic," Little told the Daily News, "it fits into the theme of Iowa stuff. Taking care of our pork producers and incorporating even more meat."
Though some might think a corndog filled with bacon might be too decadent, it's already selling well. Campbell has been selling hundreds of these dogs a day in Edmonton at Alberta's Capital EX fair.
Little suggests that if the Canadian fairs are any indication, the Double Bacon Corn Dog will likely become a mainstay on the Campbell's Concessions menu.
The hot dog is wrapped in bacon, deep-fried, refrigerated and covered in batter with bacon bits. Then they do a "few more rich things to make the flavor pop," Campbell explained.
"Everybody loves bacon… it's amazing," Campbell laughed.
With this innovation, the family business adds to their already solid place in the history of corndogs. When Campbell's Concessions was founded - originally as Mel Little Concessions - they scored a hit with the Poncho Dog, which would become their contemporary corn dog.
Little, the daughter of founders Calvin Campbell and Mel Little, took over the family business in 1972. Since taking over, she has continued the business' proud relationship with the Iowa State Fair.
The Iowa State Fair boasts live music, comedy and contests, but the backbone of the fair is the state's food, agriculture and livestock. It is the largest event in Iowa and oldest agricultural exposition in the United States.
"The Iowa State Fair is literally a symbol of Iowa," said Little.
