Gates open at the Saratoga, NY County Fair today, for the 171st time

The Saratoga County Fair, one fo the oldest county fairs in the state, opens today through Sunday at  the Saratoga County Fairground, 162 Prospect St. in Ballston Spa.

The Fair is open 9 a.m. to midnight daily; the midway is open from noon to midnight daily and  noon to 11 p.m. Sunday. The Live Music Pavilion, sponsored by Coors Light and MY TV4 Albany, is open every night at 8 p.m. featuring the top bands from here to Nashville. Concessions are open every day10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

General admission is $10 each day with special deals offered Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (see below). Parking in all the fair-managed lots is free.
 • Tuesday: included in admission is a free Insulated Krush Kooler (while supplies last), sponsored by The Daily Gazette and 104.9 The Cat.
 •Wednesday: included in admission is a free sports bottle (while supplies last), sponsored by Today’s Options Medicare Advantage Health Plans and Froggy 107.1
 •Wednesday is also Senior Citizens Day: $4 senior citizens admission (65 and older) until 5 p.m. Senior’s will receive the premium giveaways as well.  Gary Ferris will be presenting his re-creation of a WWII radio broadcast, and Local Living Live will be providing the free picnic lunch for Senior Citizens attending. It all takes place Noon  in the Live Music Pavilion.
 •Thursday included in your admission is a Sling Bag Backpack (while supplies last), sponsored by the Times Union and 107.7 WGNA.

“Smaller then Me is Free” is offered all week. Children less than 52 inches are admitted free with paying adult.

Admission all week is also free free to active duty military members.  Active duty ID is required.  Families, retired military and dependents are not eligible for free admission.

This year’s season ticket is $30 and admits one person all week.
