Summer is coming to an end and that means it’s for the Great Allentown Fair.

The annual extravaganza of animals, food, rides and entertainment at the Allentown Fairgrounds Tuesday through Sept. 3 always offers tons of fun for kids and this year is no exception with a new farm-themed activity center for kids and new shows.

As families enter the fair they will see the newest animal show – "Wild About Monkeys" in the main entrance plaza.

The show features five baboons, a Louisiana Catahoula leopard dog and a Conure parrot that will demonstrate natural and learned behaviors. Shows are at 5:30, 7:00 and 8:30 Tuesday and 3, 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.

The monkeys joins popular returning shows “Elephant Encounter” and “Robinson’s Pig Paddling Porkers,” in Machinery Court.

“Elephant Encounter” brings back Asian elephant Cora and African elephant Shannon for an educational exhibit at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.
