Monaco: The Princess joins an unlikely team of animal rights activists and the circus world to save Baby and Nepal
The elephants, who have contracted the deadly tuberculosis disease, have already received support from another high profile celebrity – Brigitte Bardot. According to a report in local newspaper Nice Matin, Princess Stephanie said: "I feel I must have been an elephant in a former life. I love the sensitivity and peaceful force of these creatures."

The princess is well known for her involvement in the circus world and Thursday 17th January marks the launch of the 37th International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo - perfect timing for stricken elephants Baby and Nepal.
Like Bardot, Princess Stephanie wrote to Hollande pleading for further tests and recommending experts to conduct them. She also condemned the zoo's “quick reaction” on the basis of a vet that “had never even dealt with elephants before”.
"All elephants are more or less carriers of this form of tuberculosis, one which is not contagious to humans," claimed the princess.
Several solutions were put forward including treatment and free shelter for the animals within the circus world of Monaco.
