Columbia, SC--The annual Elephant Walk, to publicize the arrival of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus show, is set for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in downtown Columbia.
The circus train is set to off-load the animals near Assembly and Lincoln streets after 9 a.m.. The animals then will parade to the Colonial Life Arena from Lincoln Street. About 14 animals — including elephants — will walk to the arena, where the circus has scheduled shows Thursday through Sunday. The animals will parade back to the circus train at about 8 p.m. Sunday.

  1. Animal walk went off on time without a hitch. I met with Trainmaster Joe Colossa this morning here in Columbia. I think they set a new record, arrived here from Duluth GA about 11:30 PM last night, 8 hours ahead of schedule !!
