JORDAN WORLD CIRCUS--BLUE UNIT

** The Jordan World Circus beginnings **

John Jordan, a fourth generation circus performer, was born in Sacramento, California.
His mother and father were vaudeville performers. When he was five he began his career as a tumbler, acrobat and hand balance with his brother, Paul.
The Jordan Family joined The Tom Mix Circus in the late l 930's.
John, Paul and their parents performed with this show for several years.

Patsy Jordan is a second generation circus performer. Her mother came from Germany and performed in major circuses and night clubs with a bicycle act. Patsy grew up in the dressing rooms of these shows.
ln 1954 she joined the famed Wallendas high wire act.

John’s brother Paul married into the Wallenda family, joined the high wire act and brought John along with him. John met Patsy in 1959. They both worked in the high wire act, performing the seven people pyramid, until they married in 1961. They left the Wallendas,
went to New York where John appeared with Alfred Drake in the Broadway production "KEAN", and Patsy worked in an aerial production at the Latin Quarter night club.

Following their New York appearances. Patsy and John formed their own aerial act and performed with major circuses, fairs and parks throughout the country.

After a serious accident while performing, John conceived the idea of 'The Globe of Death' and started rehearsing with his 12 year old son, Jody and 16 year old daughter, Delisa.
This act appeared at Circus Circus, in Las Vegas and Reno for l 2 years.

The opportunity to become manager and co-producer of one of the nation's leading circuses gave John the needed experience to own and operate his own three ring traveling circus,
a life-long dream. Soon The Jordan international Circus was a reality.
