Young hospital patients and their families had a ringside seat when they enjoyed a special trip to a circus.

Billy Smart’s Circus offered free tickets to one of their performances to patients at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton.

Shelby Ashton, 10, and her sister Aleesha, eight, from Brighton, and baby Oliver Goss and his mum Nicole from Burgess Hill, were among those taking up the offer.
As well as watching the matinee performance at Preston Park, the families also met some of the show’s stars, including clowns Angelo and Kevin
