Willington, FL--For years the Picadilly Circus has been touring the United States bring family fun wherever it travels.
This summer that tradition continues with this year's show Blammo coming to the Agriplex at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd., on Sunday with three shows at 1, 3:30 and 6 p.m.
This year's show will have guests enjoying one and a half hours of fun and excitement only the circus can provide.
"It is a traditional show with a modern twist," circus general manager and animal trainer Zack Gardner said. "It is a very exciting show."
Gardner - like many of the other performers and employees of the circus - is a lifer, a third-generation performer, and his children will make the fourth as they travel with him.
"You have to be a lifer," he said. "The circus business is a hard one to get into and even harder to get used to if you haven't grown up in it."
Using anywhere between 50 to 70 employees the circus will come into town with everything it needs to put on a great show.
"We are a like a small city when we travel," he said. "We have everything from living quarters to a full kitchen to feed everyone."
So how long does it take to set up and take down this mobile show of wonder?
It takes three hours to set up the show and even less time at anywhere between a half hour to an hour to tear down, Gardner said.
