KENNEBUNKPORT — The circus is coming to town. Circus Smirkus will bring its Big Top Tour to Kennebunkport on Tuesday, July 30, and Wednesday, July 31, with performances at 1 and 6 p.m. at Rockin' Horse Stables. Tickets are $16 for the 1 p.m. shows and $18 for the 6 p.m. shows. Children under 2 get in free. Tickets can be purchased at the Sugar Shack in Lower Village or at www.smirkus.org. The event has sold out in past years, so organizers advise to get your tickets early.

The event is presented by the Kennebunkport Consolidated PTA, which uses the funds to support enrichment opportunities at the school.
"We love it for so many reasons. It brings the school together, it brings the community together, and it's a summer tradition," said Amy Johnson, a member of the PTA. "Everyone's excited."
