Nock family gets brief showcase and advances on 'America's Got Talent

John Nock and his Sarasota circus family floated through their audition on "America's Got Talent," winning praise from the judges and votes to move on to the Las Vegas round of auditions.
The Nocks presented their Aerosphere Aerial Balloon Show, in which Alexandra Nock spun around while attached to the bottom of a helium-filled balloon that passed just over the heads of the audience. The balloon is guided by her husband, John, their son, Andrew, and a colleague, David O'Neill from Nokomis. Only Alexandra Nock was seen during the brief clip, that lasted less than 30 seconds, including a couple of abbreviated comments from the judges.
"Here on 'America's Got Talent' we truly are looking for something unique and unique you are," said judge Howard Stern. Former Spice Girl Mel B added, "I couldn't stop watching." No comments were shown from Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.
The Nocks, part of the seventh generation of a prominent Sarasota circus family, are competing for a $1 million prize and a chance for a Las Vegas showcase if they win the summer talent series.
Nock created the Aerosphere about 13 years ago and has presented it with his family at circuses and corporate events around the world.
The audition that aired Tuesday night on NBC was taped in March in New Orleans. The family will be competing with a wide assortment of singers, ventriloquists, illusionists, musicians, dancers and other circus-style acts. After the Las Vegas round, the show moves to Radio City Music Hall, where it will be broadcast live and viewers get to vote on the acts presented each week.
