MULLUMBIMBY Circus Festival isn't clowning around this October, with a line-up of performers straight from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The second-ever Mullumbimby Circus Festival will be hosted by Spaghetti Circus as a celebration of 21 years of the Mullum-based circus school.

General manager of Spaghetti Circus and co-producer of the Mullumbimby Circus Festival Alice Cadwell said it is an hon- our to host the "grass roots" festival.

"Being an arts and cultural rich area, it is so important to have festi- vals that run not-for-profit with volunteer love," Ms Cadwell said.

She said the circus school has based the festival on the National Circus Festival held annually in Tasmania.

"It's an amazing line-up with a lot of the performers being ex-Spaghetti Circus performers," Ms Cadwell said.

"It's a festival for everyone with something for the person who loves theatre to the person who wants to have fun on the outdoor trapeze.

"There will also be bands playing, so it's definitely an arts festival."
Stand-out act, rock and roll comedy and cabaret duo Die Roten Punkte is not to be missed, according to Ms Cadwell.

Australian acts 3's A Crowd, and physical theatre group Casus will also roll into town for the weekend of fun.

Other high-flyers include the League of Side- show Superstars, Shep Huntly, The Space Cowboy, The Great Gordo Gamsby and Australia's first female sideshow, Tigerlil.

Mullumbimby Circus Festival will be held from October 4 to 6.
There will be workshops for all ages, market stalls, a circus cafe and bar, a cinema and a gallery.

There are adult, youth, child and family tickets available starting at $155 for three days or $70 for a single day.

Children under two can come to the festival for free.
