Crowd numbers at the 2013 Ekka equalled those at last year's event, with more than 400,000 people filing through the gates at the RNA Showgrounds.
Organisers have hailed this year's revamped night program a success, with an increased number of visitors arriving later in the afternoon in time for the nightly sound and light shows.
“The RNA has been thrilled with the response the Queensland community has given to all the new aspects of the show, especially the new night time program which brought together the best elements of the country and the city for all to enjoy,” RNA chief executive Brendan Christou said.
More than 133,000 of the traditional Ekka Strawberry Sundaes were devoured during the event and more than $100,000 worth of art was sold at the Fine Arts Pavilion.

It is hoped visitor numbers will increase next year, with event organisers announcing that in 2014, the Ekka would start one day later and run over two full weekends.
"The change will make the Ekka more accessible to visitors, providing families and those who work with two full weekends to enjoy all aspects of the show,” Mr Christou said
“It also means that the much-loved night time entertainment program at Ekka 2014 will, for the first time, run for all 10 days of show – commencing on the very first night.
“It will also allow us to plan for an exciting Main Arena act on that final Sunday to draw the crowds in.”
