FORT BRANCH, IN (WFIE) -
The circus has come to Ft. Branch and three local schools are hoping to cash in on ticket sales.

Students from Holy Cross School watched the tent go up Friday at Fort Branch Community Park.

Holy Cross, Saint Peter and Paul, and Saint James schools will receive proceeds from the pre-sold circus tickets.

The Knights of Columbus in Haubstadt came up with the idea.

"I think it's a great opportunity for the kids because its kind of like a throw back to the old days with the circus coming to town.  It's really a neat deal.  Its a once in a lifetime opportunity for a lot of these kids," said John Hollis, Principal at Holy Cross School.

"I'm excited and I've never really been to a circus so it's going to be a first for me so just going to explore it and hopefully see a lot of things," said Daniel Hirsch, student at Holy Cross School.

The Holy Cross principal says his school will use the extra money to buy gym equipment.
