A three metre inflatable promotional clown stolen on Australia Day, has been returned to The Moscow Circus.
The clown, affectionately known as Vladimir, was taken from a property at Terrigal.
The thieves climbed through a wire fence along Terrigal Drive to deflate and remove the attraction.
The theft left circus management angry who offered a reward for its return.
At the weekend, manager Greg Hall received a call from a woman who saw the clown near an unattended vehicle at Woy Woy.
She then put the clown into her car and delivered it to circus management.
Mr Hall said they were delighted and relieved.
``To some of our staff it’s like losing a member of their family,’’ he said.
The circus is based at the Mingara Club until February 5.
