FISHKILL — The Hudson Valley Fair returns to Dutchess Stadium this year with more than 100 rides, games, entertainment and attractions.
The fair opens Friday with a special opening-night admission price of $1, and will remain open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through May 20.
Legion Fireworks Co. will present a fireworks display Saturday nights at sundown.
Strates Shows, the last major amusement company traveling by train, will bring its lineup of rides, including the Fireball, Supa Sizzler and Himalaya.
Entertainment includes the Lance Gifford Magic and Illusion Show; The Great American Frontier Circus with an award-winning horseback rider, an Arabian stallion that can walk 60 feet on his hind legs, the Giant Belgium Horse and the biggest and strongest ox in the world; The Wild Wolves Show with animal rescuer, trainer and conservationist Michael Sandlofer; a free petting zoo, including the Animals that Built America and the Animals that Built the Civilizations of the World, and the Old West Theatre’s vaudeville show with dog performers and sheep herding demonstrations.
Dutchess Stadium is on Route 9D in Fishkill. Fair gates open Fridays 5 p.m.-midnight and Saturdays and Sundays noon-midnight.
Fair admission is $3 with a buy-one-get-one-free admission coupon available on the fair’s website, www.HudsonValleyFair.com. Regular price is $6.
