I know I promised to continue the pictures from the Bandwagon, of Hoxie, but

yesterday I received these shots from Jack Silar so I thought I'd post these today and

pick up the Bandwagon photos tomorrow.

Jack tagged these as unknown.

Can you identify these folks?

I do know that the silver house trailer, on old Spartan, belonged

to one of the Silverlakes. So it had to be in 1961.

This young lady was leased from the Morris'.

Her name was Dinah. I beleive she was in a package deal

with the Palomino Liberty Horse Act.

STU MILLER'S AMERICAN SHOWTIME CIRCUS

Stu Miller was a magician who had been sideshow manager on quite a few circuses.

Among them Hoxie Bros, Clyde Beatty Cole Bros, Sells & Gray and more.

He was married to Sarah Diaz, one of the Diaz Sisters of rolling globe fame.

Stu passed away close to 10 years ago.

If anyone out there has any pictures of the show or it's equipment I would

love to share them on the blog.

HOXIE BROS CIRCUS--THE EARLY YEARS

Hoxie 1961 was the first circus that Bill and I trouped on.

We had just graduated from High School

Borrowed our Dad's 1959 Impala and spent a couple of weeks clowning on the show.

The show only had one clown that year. He had to be one of the funniest guys, in or out of make up. His name was Frank Cheshire, from Valdosta and must have been in his 80's then.

A real old-time clown and he was also the arrow man for the show.
