FROM HART SMITH---

This stand, without sponsor, was one of the last for the huge old tent. It was only being used as a spare until the finishing touches could be put on the new, somewhat smaller tent. As a matter of fact, while it was being erected the old tent developed a rather large tear which required a tedious patch job before the big top could be raised.

SHARPTOWN. MD FIREMAN'S CARNIVAL

An old tradition down here on the Good Ol Eastern Shore of Marland, Delaware, & Virginia
are the Old Time Fireman's Carnivals.
These Carnivals date way back and a lot of them have fallen by tye wayside
over the years. It's HARD to get enough volunteers to man the rides and the booths.
There are at least 5 left that I'm sure of-
#1--Sharptown, MD
#2--Hebron, MD
#3--Preston, MD*
#4 Greensboro, MD*
#5 Chincoteague, VA Fireman's Carnival & Pony Penning.
The ones with the * don't operate their own rides.
But they do contract them out.
I'm hoping that I will get some more of these carnivals
to let me know about them and furnish some pictures.
Right now the Hebron, MD Carnival is on all month.

Special Thanks to Billy Adkins for providing these excellant photos!
