DALLAS, TEXAS STATE FAIR (FROM BOB COX)

Dick ...The Dallas Fair is so huge, it definitely lives up to the tale that everythings big in Texas. It's the Disneyland of Fairs, you can't see it in one day. Heres photos of different joints, Novelties and balloon joints wore checkered shirts when I was there in the early 80's. I can recall about 35 or 40 Novelty and balloon stands.... The better ones were down by the Big Tex statue, those people came early in that section, bought good and left before dark. I was further up the midway past the Cotton Bowl. When the Fair wasnt going on they opened gates for through traffic and the Street I was working on was Martin Luther Boulevard. Across the Street from me was a Beer and Wine Joint and I saw plenty of fights break out, one day they knocked over my helium tanks. Right next to that was "Floyds Fried Chicken Liver Stand". I should've got combat pay. The novelty joint by the haunted house was a rough joint also, sometimes the operater would have to move the joint 5 or 6 feet back to its original location in the mornings. But most of the joints made good money, the worse one was over by the chicken barns....they never saw people accept on weekends.
