WILLIAMSON COUNTYAn auto dealer known in Middle Tennessee for using carnival rides to draw attention to his showrooms said he's willing to go 'round and 'round with the city of Franklin over whether he can bring a Ferris wheel to his newest location on Murfreesboro Road.
Chris Bostick, the owner of Carnival Kia, which has locations in Antioch and Madison, received his business license Monday to open a new Williamson County location. A spokeswoman for the city noted, however, that zoning regulations prohibit Bostick from having "amusement equipment" at the dealership.
Bostick said Ferris wheels and the like are part of his company's identity. His other stores feature amusement rides and the theme is carried onto the company's website.
"The city's going to give me a hard time about it and they've told me they're going to give us a hard time about it, but that's alright," Bostick said. "That's our signature."
Bostick said he's planning a soft opening for Thursday and expects to be fully operational in a few weeks.
