Water - lots and lots of water - for elephants

AP Photo/The News & Observer,

Chris Seward Elephant trainer and handler John Walker III washes down his elephants Viola, center, and Nina, before a Cole Bros. Circus show at the Fairgrounds in Raleigh, N.C., on Friday, April 22, 2011. Viola weighs about 10,000 pounds., and Nina about 7,000 pounds. The circus has three shows Saturday and two shows Sunday.
A clean elephant is a happy elephant, and a happy elephant is a crowd-pleasing elephant. So trainer John Walker III washes down Viola, foreground, and Nina, before a Cole Bros. Circus show in Raleigh, N.C. Viola indeed seemed happy Friday
