FAIRBANKS - The gates opened Friday at noon for the 80th edition of the Tanana Valley State Fair, and the rain held off.
Today is BP Kids' Day. Children under 13 get in to the fair for free until 7 p.m. Activities on tap include a bubble gum blowing contest, racing pigs, a freight dog pull and a backhoe derby.For more information, visit http://www.tananavalleystatefair.com/.
