Greenpoint Ave. Street fair

The weather was ideal for two large fairs in Sunnyside on Saturday.
Hundreds turned out for the Greenpoint Ave. Street festival yesterday, where food vendors were selling popular items such as Italian sausages/hotdogs—and there were several children’s activities on offer. These included a bouncy house, a mechanical swing and a large slide.
Local groups from the Sunnyside Woodside Lions Club and the veterans’ associations had tables promoting their groups. In addition, councilman Jimmy Van Bramer was there talking to local constituents.
Meanwhile, the Sunnyside Gardens Park Memorial Day Fair event drew a big crowd as children were entertained from beginning to end. There were bouncy houses, a rock climbing wall, an obstacle course set up by the YMCA, and face painting.
