Roller coaster enthusiasts and industry experts are excited about the new coaster coming to Cedar Point.
Among them is Don LeFevre, 46, who has been visiting the amusement park since he was 12 years old.
He's a season pass holder, routinely making the three-hour drive from Pennsylvania to drive up the causeway.
LeFevre was excited when he read about the park planning to build a wing coaster for the 2013 season.
"Oh my gosh, I can hardly wait," he said. "We know it's going to be awesome."
He has ridden the wing coaster in DollyWood in Tennessee.
"It is open air, nothing above you or below you," he said. "It's as smooth as glass. I'm glad they came up with this design."
He describes the experience as being on the front of a plane, flying through the air.
LeFevre, an employee at Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pa., said many of the students on campus can't wait to see the new coaster.
"Tell Cedar Point we will pay anything to see it," he said.
This past week, The Register broke the news that Cedar Fair plans to spend $25 million to build a winged coaster.
In the design plans, the ride is code-named "CP Alt.Winged."
The design comes from the Swiss-based coaster gurus Bolliger & Mabillard; it suspends riders to the sides of the rail, so there's no track above or below.
