Circus star set to stun crowds

CONTORTIONIST Brenda Gonzalez will be wowing Toowoomba residents when the Lennon Bros Circus starts tonight.
The 23-year-old performer has been contorting herself on stage in her native Chile since she was seven and joined the circus troupe with her partner Luis Quiroz in February.
As well as being a contortionist, Ms Gonzalez does a web act which involves scaling a spinning rope and contorting herself while metres off the ground.
Mr Quiroz does a bouncing rope act on the high wire and a hand-balancing act.
Jay Lennon, of Lennon Bros, said the circus always tried to have new acts in its shows.
“We try and change our show, just so we don’t have the same show all the time,” Mr Lennon said.
“We are a circus for the young and old.
“Seeing circuses is coming back in a big way, we are seeing more and more in the audience.”
The first show is tonight at 7pm in Queens Park with shows until Saturday, June 20.
Tickets for any of the performances can be bought online at www.lennonbroscircus.com.au or by phoning Central City News in Margaret Street on 4638 2817.
