Attendance good at 2011 Shrine Circus in Great Falls
Posted: Apr 9, 2011 by Kay Rossi (Great Falls) The circus has come and gone and organizers say attendance was up from last year. The 60th Annual Shrine Circus included elephants, acrobats, clowns and more. Every year the show circulates through 120 towns, including Great Falls. Although it's too early for a ticket count, organizers say they've noticed crowds on par or slightly higher than in years past. Circus Chairman Bob Kampfer said, "Its a little bit higher, I think, than last year. The year before was quite a good turnout. Right now this is the afternoon show and it looks like its going to be quite full. So it looks like were even or maybe a little bit ahead at this point." Last week the show was in Billings. Next week it will go to Butte and Bozeman before heading to Wyoming. Kampfer says organizers have already gotten next year's event pretty much planned and it will still be held during the second week of April.
