AEROPLANES soared over the shimmering horizon, vintage vehicles glistened in the sun and an array of other activities drew packed crowds to a revamped country fair.About 4,500 people flocked to the West Suffolk Country Fair, formerly known as the Wings, Wheels and Steam fair, at Rougham Airfield over the weekend.
Highlights included a farmers’ market with traders selling items such as wooden crafts, cheese and cider.
Families were entertained with activities and children’s drop in sessions.
Classic cars, motor cycles, steam engines and about 80 tractors were on display.
There was also a dog show arena as well as Shire and Suffolk horses and sheep dog demonstrations in the main arena.
Aviation enthusiasts could marvel at displays of aerobatic aircraft and vintage biplanes such as the Tiger Moth and Boeing Shearman.
Gary Newland, events director at Rougham Airfield, said: “It was known as the Wings, Wheels and Steam fair for eight years but this is a revamped version.
