Lions and Tigers and Dragons, Oh My!

Lions roared, tigers stalked and dragons roamed the Covelli Centre Friday night for the first of nine shows of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey circus.

The Ringling Bros. “Dragons” presentation didn't disappoint the young and old who gathered, with their eyes wide open.

The show centers around different dragon tribes coming together showcasing their talents and proving they have the virtues of courage, strength, wisdom and heart.

Fans of all ages, like 6-year-old Abbie Dillon, couldn't wait for what's billed as the "Greatest Show on Earth!"

“I like to see the people on the different pogo sticks. I’m happy to see the dragons this year,” said Abbie. “Last year, it was kind of fun to see the guys have to change the huge light bulb.”

This was her second year at the circus.

Before the show, an all access pre-show kept folks entertained. One of the majestic Asian elephant's did a little artwork with its trunk and the clowns had a lesson or two for the crowd.

“Like try on the costumes and stuff. Dress up and look very funny,” said circus fan Emily Garrett.

Circus goers also got to see an impressive martial arts performance and were able to get autographs from all the stars.

The shows run through Monday.
