The show must go off

RISING young circus stars will showcase their skills in Prahran’s National Institute of Circus Arts graduation performances.
The Circus Showcase is the culmination of three years of intense training, as part of Australia’s only Bachelor of Circus Arts.
Signature acts developed over three years will wow audiences with their technical skill and performance panache in 10 performances starting tomorrow.
Graduate Bryan Talaga chose circus over a career as a music teacher.
The 23-year-old has no regrets about leaving his home country of Canada for Australia’s warmer climate and circus training.
The multi-talented acrobat and juggler says he still gets to play the trumpet as part of a juggling act that also involves a unicycle.
Fellow graduate Sam Aldham, 29, of Windsor, turned to the institute for formal training after completing some short courses on offer.
The Circus Showcase is on until December 3. Tickets $18-$28. Click here for session times and bookings.
