The City of Palestine Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Carson and Barnes Circus on Wednesday at the Palestine Mall parking lot located at 2017 S. Loop 256.

The circus is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department in an effort to help support the non-profit organization Legacy in the Park Program, which was established to give citizens the opportunity to assist the local parks department in maintaining, replacing or adding new park amenities to public areas through community donations.

The City of Palestine provides mowing and maintenance services at all area Parks, Lakes and Cemeteries, as well as general landscape beautification of our City. “Parks are a very important to the fabric and image of our Community,” says Roy Crouch, community services director for the City of Palestine. “The amenities, mowing, maintenance and cleanliness of our local parks speaks volumes about Palestine and how much we care and take pride in our Community.”

Circus show times are at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Department encourages citizens to purchase tickets in advance because a higher percentage of the proceeds go to Legacy in the Park Program from pre-sale tickets than those sold on Circus Day.

“This is a fun and exciting program for our Community to come out and support,” says Heather Hrebec, event coordinator for the City of Palestine. “The circus is affordable entertainment for our families and a fun way to give back to our local parks and support the community.”

Tickets can be purchased at any of the four following ticket outlets: City Hall, Palestine Visitor Center, Civic Center and the Palestine Public Library. Tickets purchased before Circus Day are $6 for children and $14 for adults. Tickets purchase at the C ircus raise to $8 for children and $16 for adults. $4 off coupons for adult tickets can be found in the City of Palestine water bills or at any of the ticket outlets and can be used at any time.
