BROOKLYN - A world-famous circus is set to perform at the Barclays Center.
Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus will perform at the Brooklyn arena tonight through April 1.
A preview of the 'Greatest Show on Earth' was held in DUMBO today, featuring circus performers and dancing elephants.
The People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals (PETA) protested the event, saying that Ringling animal trainers shock their elephants with electric prods and strike them with sharp steel-tipped bullhooks. The group says it plans to protest outside the Barclays Center as well.
The circus has not commented on PETA's claims.
