It is just over 50 years since Gerry Cottle completed that age-old adage and ran away and joined the circus, swapping his suburban London home for a caravan and his schoolbooks for a set of juggling clubs. He soon excelled and expanded his repertoire to include stilt walking, bareback horse riding, fire eating, clowning and even a became a crocodile trainer, as explained in his recent biography ‘Confessions of a Showman - My life in the Circus'.
Gerry quickly grew to become Britain's biggest and best-known circus with its many Film & TV appearances, especially the highly successful Saturday night spectacular ‘Seaside Special'.
Gerry Cottle's Circus not only toured all over the UK but also in Ireland, the Far East, The Middle East, South America Europe & even Iceland, becoming the most widely travelled British circus in history.
Now to celebrate his 50 years on the road, Gerry Cottle, the last of the Great British Showmen, brings you his latest incarnation WOW! A circus like no other featuring an astounding 50 acts in 100 Minutes.
A spectacular new show for the 21st Century features a host of world class circus acts from around the globe, from rock n roll roller-skaters to death defying Sky High daredevils, from international illusionists to amazing acrobats and jugglers and non-stop comedy chaos suitable for all the family.
