FISHER BROS 1776 CIRCUS (From Hartland Smith)

Talk about "Holy Big Tops! I beleive Hoxie owned this show. Circus Fans correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Dick,

Here are two more pix I located on my hard drive. They were scanned from 35mm slides and aren't as large as some of the digital items I've been sending. They show FISHER BROS. setup on a vacant lot on the main street of downtown Mackinaw City, MI.

I only obtained two pix because I had just arrived in Mackinaw City, on a day in July, 1976. After snapping these fotos, I had to drive to my summer home and unload the car. Then, guests came and stayed the evening. During that time we had a terrific rain and wind storm. I don't know how the circus escaped a blow down. I do know that my barber, who attended the show with his daughter, said that they had to keep moving to different areas to avoid leaks from above.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT (FROM MIKE NAUGHTIN)

LIPPIZZAN STALLIONS

This was one of the biggest shows that Bill and I ever produced.
We had them in Salisbury at the Civic Center one year
and the next year in the Ocean City Convention Hall.
Jack Beck, that owned the Tournament of Thrills, out of Philadelphia was their
East Coast rep.

I hope that you've enjoyed looking at this article.
I just wish my scanner could have scanned two pages at once.
It was a very time consuming project but I'm glad I did it.
