CIRCUS VARGAS

This show was known as the Tented Giant.
And it was back in the 70' & 80's.
It's Founder, Clifford Vargas was a real showman!
After He passed Roland Kaiser and his npartner kept the show out under
their management and continued to be successful
Then they retired and the show was off the road for a few years.
Now about two years ago The Tabares Family, who is in the video below this, started the show back up and seem to be doing a great job.

"ELEPHANTS WALTZ HOME" TAMPA TRIBUNE

Elephants Waltz To Winter Home

TAMPA - Bug-eyed motorists along Orient Road pulled to the side Thursday morning to clear the way for Asia, a 10,000-pound, 8-foot-tall elephant, and nine of her gigantic friends.
Locked trunks to tails, the circus elephants marched north in a straight line from the Uceta railroad tracks, where they were unloaded, to the Florida State Fairgrounds, their winter home. The elephants just completed a two-year, 90-city tour for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Motorists didn't seem to mind the delay. Many snapped photos of the elephant walk, a 3-mile trek, with their cell phone cameras.
"I've watched them walk every year," said Mike Jenkins of Tampa. "They're beautiful animals."
Circus spokeswoman Melinda Hartline and other circus employees walked about 20 feet ahead of the elephant convoy, alerting trainers to potholes and kicking pebbles and bolts off the street.
"We'll stop along the way at some point to check all their feet," Hartline said.
Eleven horses also were unloaded and joined the 10 elephants for the journey to the fairgrounds.
Over the next few weeks, the animals will be rehearsing for the 139th edition of The Greatest Show on Earth. The "Zing Zang Zoom" tour debuts Jan. 7 at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Al G. Barnes Circus was an American circus run by Alpheus George Barnes Stonehouse.
Stonehouse started the show in 1895 with a pony, a phonograph, a stereopticon.[1] His circus was purchased by the American Circus Corporation in 1929 and was merged with the Sells-Floto Circus, John Robinson Shows, and Sparks Circus. That same year John Nicholas Ringling bought out the American Circus Corporation and folded all the performers into his Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. [2]
One of their more famous animals was Black Diamond, an Indian elephant whose unpredictable temper resulted in the deaths of four people.

The "miracle" of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing. The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season.Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic necessities, along with seasonal aid. Families of prisoners often are included.Volunteers distribute gifts to shut-ins in hospitals and nursing homes, and shelters are open for sit-down dinners. The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten. Many families receive aid over a period of months after the Christmas season as well, people struggling with difficult family, emotional, or employment problems.
