Flash Is Cash!

Here's an e-mail I received this morning from Mike Naughton:
The Toy Palace at Yankee Doodle Circus, "The Happiest Show in the Whole-Wide World".
We put this big stand up on the big weekends; this field house hold 2200 and we do three shows on Saturday; been there for years. It takes 5 people to work this stand, two in front of each pair of trees, two on the counter and one making stock.
Prices range from $5. to $20. Guess which two brothers taught me how to run a novelty stand?
More to follow.

  1. Dick,
I forgot to mention -- this was the first time we put up the big stand and we were one table cover short as can be seen in the middle of the three road boxes/counters.
We borrowed the pink cover from our TIKI HAT STAND; of course we had the replacement red/white cover in a week.

You'd get a kick out of the HAT STAND -- all hats -- we are amazed that so many kids and adults like to wear hats. This stand is done in palm trees/tiki motif.

One time we are 4 miles from the Jersey Meadowlands and were there the same time Ringling is at the arena. I'm standing near the retail operation with Charley Van Buskirk, announcer par excellence, when a parent walks in and looks at the operation and comments to their friend, "It looks just like the Meadowlands."

Charley breaks up and I just look and smile.

I'm so happy Charley was there to verify that remark.
