THIS BLOG IS DEDICATED TO MY TWIN BROTHER, BILL DYKES (1943-1995). WE WERE NOT ONLY BROTHERS BUT PARTNERS IN BUSINESS AND BEST FRIENDS!AND TO ALL THE "BUTCHERS" THAT HAVE PASSED ON TO THE BIG LOT IN THE SKY!
Dick- Were the pom pom hats the hats that would be personalized with the kids' name that was done on a stitching machine? Would those machines be available now? For the record I am NOT going into the hat biz; just curious.
However, at the mall the photos with Santa started at $12.99 plus tax for a 5 x 7 in an oversized frame.
I would say yes Mike they were probably personalized. Sid Daniels, a patch on the Million Dollar Midway used to have hat joints back then and a gentleman named Freddie King was one of his agents for years. Then the man that taught Bill and I the floss and apple joint also had hat joints on the Royal American Shows. Beleive it or not his was Freddie King also. No relation to the first Freddie Kine!
