Horseheads - As the 168th Chemung County Fair comes to an end, officials say this year was one of the best attended fairs.
A number of people were taking in some of the activities at the final day of the fair in Horseheads.
Fair officials say numbers were up this year. About 35,000 people joined in the festivities.
Officials say new attractions like air balloon rides and laser tag, plus more popular music artist helped bring in huge crowds this year.“People are staying locally again partially because the economy but we also had a couple of good shows in here.
We also had Billy Currington in here earlier in the week an he filled the place,” said Fair Director Kermit Bossard.
Fair officials say they will work on having a bigger parking lot for next year. They also plan on having more current musical artist and more exhibits.
