Bannister, who is now the assistant floor manager and lighting director, grew up in the circus. It's been in his family for 8 generations. "It makes me sad to think that they would tear this place (Roberts Stadium) down. This is like home for me. It's tradition," he said.

Crews continued working on Wednesday as they prepare Roberts Stadium for the start of the 78th Hadi Shrine Circus in Evansville. This is expected to be the last Hadi Shrine Circus performance in Roberts Stadium as work on the new downtown arena continues.
