The circus is coming to downtown Kokomo on Friday, May 10, on the grounds of Future Park, 400 S. Apperson Way (south of Kokomo High School’s Memorial Gym.)
Two performances of the Kelly Miller Circus are scheduled for 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The Kelly Miller Circus is owned and produced by John Ringling North II, who grew up in his family’s legendary Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus.
This one-ring wonder is an energetic, two-hour spectacle of world-class circus stars headlining from around the globe featuring a variety of entertaining acts including performances by tigers, camels, elephants, aerialists, and jugglers. Clown duo Steve and Ryan will entertain the crowd with their high energy antics.
Beginning at 7:30 a.m., on the day of the show, the public is invited to watch the animals being unloaded and fed. At 9 a.m. roustabouts and elephants will pull the giant circus tent in the air. The tent has a seating capacity for nearly 1,500 people and is 140-feet long, 130-feet wide and 40-feet tall. The morning activity is free. Guides will be furnished for school groups and anyone attending
“The Kelly Miller Circus is one of the last true traveling big-top circuses,” said John Martino, Kokomo Parks Superintendent. “No matter where you sit inside the tent, spectators are close to the action and become part of the magic of Circus Day as it has been experienced for over 200 years.”
