WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. – The Wilson County Fair had a record attendance for its opening weekend.
Officials said 223,255 attended the fair, marking an increase of 17,679 over 2012, and 15,460 over the previous opening weekend record of 15,460 in 2009.
Fair officials believe the cool weather and many new features of this year's fair were responsible for this record breaking crowd.
There is also a new entrance this year, along with expanded parking lot roads. This is also the first time Music City Star offered rides to and from Nashville. They were offered Saturday, and will be offered again on Saturday, August 24.
