Remembering Tiptoe Tiny Tim

Today I will wear a black tie with tiny clowns. It is a good tie, because the lining is white silk and was autographed by Herbert Khaury, using his fake name.
His real name — Herbert Khaury — would not sell, so this stringy haired fellow gave himself a new name and began calling himself Tiny Tim. That’s what he wrote on my tie.
I think of Tiny Tim because last week was the 16th anniversary of his death.
